Kochi: Prominent businessman and social media personality Bobby Chemmanur has been officially charge-sheeted in a sexual harassment case involving a well-known actress. The Ernakulam Magistrate Court received the charge sheet filed by the Central Police, following a detailed investigation into the complaint lodged by the actress.
The charge sheet alleges that Chemmanur made repeated sexually suggestive and double-meaning remarks aimed at insulting the actress. It also claims that he has harassed several individuals through social media platforms, with the police gathering substantial digital evidence to support the accusations.
He faces charges under two sections: sexual harassment and stalking. Chemmanur was arrested earlier and remanded to Kakkanad Jail, but was later granted bail by the High Court.
Following his release, Chemmanur issued a public apology, stating that his controversial statements were intended as part of marketing strategies and not meant to harm anyone deliberately.
