Kerala Declares War on Drug Menace: CM Pinarayi Vijayan Unveils Comprehensive Anti-Narcotic Action Plan

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has announced a state-wide intensified campaign against the rising drug menace, unveiling a detailed anti-narcotic action plan aimed at eradicating the threat from society. Declaring it as a “people’s movement,” the CM emphasized the need for collective action involving government agencies, educational institutions, and the public.

The action plan includes strict surveillance, speedy prosecution of offenders, and enhanced coordination between law enforcement agencies. Special focus will be placed on protecting schools and colleges from the influence of narcotics. Awareness campaigns, rehabilitation programs, and community-level vigilance committees will also play a major role in the initiative.

“Drug abuse is not just a law and order issue, it’s a social threat. We are committed to building a drug-free Kerala,” said Vijayan while addressing a gathering in the capital city.

The state has already intensified its crackdown on drug networks, with several high-profile arrests and seizures in recent months. The new plan is expected to further strengthen Kerala’s resolve in fighting narcotics and building a safer environment for future generations.
