Crown Gifted by PM Modi to Goddess Kali Stolen from Bangladesh’s Jeshoreshwari Temple

Dhaka: The crown gifted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Goddess Kali at the revered Jeshoreshwari Temple in Bangladesh has been stolen. This temple, located in Satkhira’s Shyamnagar Upazila, is a prominent site of worship, being one of the 51 sacred Shakti Peeths in Hindu tradition.

PM Modi had presented the crown during his visit in March 2021, as a gesture to strengthen India-Bangladesh cultural ties. The theft of such a precious and symbolic offering has left devotees and officials in deep concern.

Bangladesh authorities have initiated a thorough investigation into the theft and bolstered security around the temple to prevent further incidents. Efforts are underway to recover the stolen crown and apprehend those responsible, as the incident raises alarm about the safety of religious artifacts and heritage treasures in the region.
