Dehradun: The final electoral roll in Uttarakhand will be published on October 3, Chief Electoral Officer Dr BVRC Purushottam said on Monday.
The final voter list was earlier scheduled to be released on September 15 as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. The publication has now been postponed to October 3, the chief electoral officer said.Purushottam said hearings have been completed for more than 99 per cent of the 24.30 lakh notices issued across the state during the revision process.
He added that scrutiny and processing of around 40 per cent of Forms 6, 7 and 8 have also been completed.The SIR exercise is aimed at updating and verifying the electoral rolls ahead of the final publication of the voter list.
