India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is in “perfect physical shape” ahead of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, according to chief athletics coach Radhakrishnan Nair. Expressing confidence in the team’s prospects, Radhakrishnan Nair said India is well placed to surpass its medal tally from the 2022 Games.
Neeraj Chopra, who won gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, missed the 2022 edition due to injury. After recovering from a lower back injury sustained before the 2025 World Championships, he returned to competition this season, finishing fourth at the Doha Diamond League in June with a throw of 85.69 metres.
