Ahead of Kargil Vijay Diwas, around 250 defence forces aspirants from across Lucknow paid homage to the soldiers who laid down their lives in the 1999 Kargil War at the Smritika War Memorial in Lucknow Cantonment on Saturday.
An official statement said a course-ending parade of 127 officers, including five from friendly foreign countries, was also held at the Officers Training College, Army Medical Corps Centre and College, marking the successful completion of their training. Visitors also witnessed a light and sound show showcasing the courage, valour and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces.
