Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has allotted 22,333.70 square metres of land at Dasturi, the entry point to the hill station of Matheran in Raigad district, for the development of a tourist parking facility.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said the decision was approved through a government resolution issued by the Revenue Department on Friday.
The land, located in Karjat taluka, has been transferred free of cost to the Matheran Municipal Council under Class-II occupancy rights in accordance with the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966. The move is aimed at improving parking infrastructure and enhancing convenience for tourists visiting the popular hill station.
