American Airlines has announced the temporary suspension of several summer routes due to soaring jet fuel prices, which have increased airline operating costs amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran.
The airline said it has adjusted services on select routes during August and September. Passengers affected by the changes will be offered alternative travel arrangements or refunds.
American Airlines emphasized that the route suspensions are temporary and that no routes are being permanently discontinued. The carrier added that the move reflects broader challenges facing the aviation industry as fuel costs continue to rise.
The Texas-based airline stated that it remains committed to maintaining its extensive flight network and continues to operate more flights than any other U.S. airline.
