The deadline for filing nominations for the Kerala Assembly elections ended on Monday, with a total of 1,269 nominations submitted across the state by 3 pm.
Prominent candidates who filed their nominations include Opposition Leader V D Satheesan from Paravur, UDF candidate Apu John Joseph from Thodupuzha, and LDF candidate Jose K Mani from Pala.
Among others, BJP candidate Major Ravi filed from Ottapalam, while UDF candidate I C Balakrishnan submitted his papers from Sulthan Bathery.
Additional candidates who completed the nomination process include K S Sabarinathan from Nemom, NDA candidate B Gopalakrishnan from Guruvayur, UDF candidate P K Firoz from Koduvalli, and NDA candidate Akhil Marar from Thrikkakara.
NDA candidate P Shyam Raj from Mananthavady and UDF candidate P V Anvar from Beypore also filed their nominations.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted on Tuesday, while candidates will have the option to withdraw their nominations until March 26.
