Mumbai: India booked their place in the T20 World Cup final with a thrilling seven-run victory over England in a high-scoring semifinal. Chasing a daunting target of 254, England fought hard but finished at 246 for 7 in their 20 overs. The match went down to the final over with England needing 30 runs, but India held their nerve. Shivam Dube delivered a disciplined last over, while a brilliant throw from Hardik Pandya ran out the dangerous Jacob Bethell, effectively sealing the contest. With the win, India will now face New Zealand in the final on March 8.
Earlier, India set the stage with a massive total of 253 for 7 after an explosive batting display. Sanju Samson led the charge with a superb 89 off just 42 balls, smashing eight fours and seven sixes. Ishan Kishan added a quick 39 from 18 deliveries, while Shivam Dube contributed a valuable 43 off 25 balls to power India past the 250 mark. For England, Will Jacks and Adil Rashid claimed two wickets each, but the bowlers struggled to contain India’s aggressive batting lineup.
