Gold Prices Accelerate Again; Pavan Inches Closer to ₹1.19 Lakh

Kochi: Gold prices in the state have shifted into high gear once more, edging closer to the ₹1.19 lakh mark per pavan. The price climbed by ₹80 today, pushing the rate to ₹1,18,720 per pavan, while the per gram price rose by ₹10 to ₹14,840. The steady climb comes amid continued volatility in the bullion market.

The surge follows a sharp spike of ₹1,120 per pavan recorded yesterday, which propelled prices back above ₹1.18 lakh. At the start of the month, gold was priced at ₹1,17,760 per pavan, with ₹1,07,920 — recorded on the second — marking the month’s lowest level so far. The all-time high of ₹1,31,160 per pavan was registered on January 29, while December 23 marked the first time gold crossed the ₹1 lakh milestone. Analysts attribute the fluctuations to global market trends, as international factors continue to influence local bullion rates.
