Gold Prices on a Rampage: Surge ₹3,160 in a Day, Sovereign Hits Record ₹1,10,400

Gold prices in Kerala are on an unstoppable rise, shattering records yet again. In a dramatic surge on Tuesday, the price of gold jumped by a staggering ₹3,160 per sovereign in two phases, propelling it to an all-time high of ₹1,10,400. The price per gram also climbed sharply to ₹13,800, reflecting the intensity of the rally.

The latest spike follows a series of steep increases over the past few days. On Monday alone, gold prices rose by ₹1,800 in two rounds, after an earlier jump of ₹1,400 had already pushed prices past the previous record of ₹1,05,600, set on the 14th of this month.

Gold had crossed the ₹1 lakh mark for the first time on December 23, and since then the upward momentum has only strengthened. Experts attribute the relentless climb to volatility in global markets and a growing rush towards gold as a safe-haven investment amid economic and geopolitical uncertainties.

With international trends continuing to drive local prices, the glitter of gold shows no signs of fading anytime soon.
