New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday extended his compliments to Members of Parliament for highlighting India’s rich cultural and linguistic diversity during parliamentary proceedings. He said the use of different Indian languages and references to regional cultures on the floor of the House reflects the true spirit of the nation’s unity in diversity.
The Prime Minister noted that Parliament is not just a place for law-making but also a powerful platform that represents the voices, traditions, and identities of people from every corner of the country. PM appreciated lawmakers for expressing themselves in their mother tongues, stating that it strengthens democratic participation and brings governance closer to the people.
Emphasising India’s civilisational ethos, the Prime Minister said respecting and celebrating linguistic and cultural plurality is essential for building an inclusive and confident India. PM added that such practices reaffirm the constitutional values of equality, mutual respect, and national integration.
The remarks come amid growing efforts to promote Indian languages in official and public domains, reinforcing the idea that diversity is one of India’s greatest strengths.
