Prime Minister Narendra Modi Departs for Ethiopia, to Address Joint Session of Parliament

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday departed for Ethiopia from Jordan, marking the beginning of his first-ever visit to the African nation.

During the visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to address a Joint Session of the Ethiopian Parliament, underscoring the growing diplomatic and parliamentary ties between India and Ethiopia. The address is expected to highlight India’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Africa in areas such as development, trade, technology, and people-to-people exchanges.

The visit is also seen as a significant step in deepening India–Africa relations, with Ethiopia being a key partner in the region and the seat of the African Union.
