To manage the massive influx of devotees during the Sabarimala Mandala pilgrimage season, Indian Railways has rolled out an extensive special service schedule. A total of 274 train services will be operated, including 32 special trains running in both directions between Kerala and major cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
Of these, 18 services will connect Kakinada and Kottayam, while the remaining 256 will run to and from Kollam, one of the key railway hubs for Sabarimala pilgrims.
As these are designated special trains, fares will be slightly higher than regular services.
The lineup of special trains includes:
- Kakinada–Kottayam Special
- Hazur Sahib Nanded–Kollam Special
- Charlapalli–Kollam Special
- Machilipatnam–Kollam Special
- Narsapur–Kollam Special
- Chennai Egmore–Kollam Special
- Chennai Central–Kollam Special
With these additional services, the Railways aims to provide a smooth, safe, and convenient travel experience for thousands of devotees journeying to Sabarimala this festive season.
