According to a statement released by the state government today, Haryana will create the largest forest safari park in the world in the Aravalli range. The Gurugram and Nuh districts would be covered by the 10,000-acre safari park. The statement read, “This initiative will be the largest such endeavour in the world.” The largest artfully curated safari park outside of Africa is now located in Sharjah. The Sharjah Safari, which debuted in February 2022, spans over 2,000 acres.
“The proposed Aravalli park would be five times larger and feature a large herpetarium (a zoological exhibition space for reptiles and amphibians), aviary/bird park, four zones for big cats, a sizable area for herbivores, a section for exotic bird species, an underwater world, nature trails, tourists, tourism zones, botanical gardens, and other features,” says the proposal.
The government stated in the statement that the proposed Aravalli park would be five times larger and contain a large herpetarium (a zoological exhibition space for reptiles and amphibians), aviary/bird park, four zones for big cats, a sizable area for herbivores, a section for exotic animal birds, an underwater world, nature trails, visitors, tourism zones, botanical gardens, and biomes including equatorial, tropical, coastal, and desert, among others
In this regard, Sharjah Safari was visited by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Union Minister for Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav, according to the state government.
On Wednesday, Manohar Khattar travelled to Dubai for a single day.
Mr. Khattar claimed the NCR region of Haryana had enormous potential for the creation of a jungle safari upon his return on Thursday.
According to him, the Jungle Safari plan will increase tourists while simultaneously giving locals job chances. According to the plan, the central government will also give money to Haryana for the project. “The Jungle safari project of Haryana will be a joint project of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Haryana government,” said Mr. Khattar.
Two businesses with international experience in constructing and running such facilities have been shortlisted after a global Expression of Interest for the project was published, the chief minister noted.
An Aravalli Foundation will be established to oversee the project, and the companies will now compete in an international design competition for the design, supervision, and operation of the park, according to Mr. Khattar.
The Central Zoo Authority had performed an evaluation study of the area and concurred that the construction of such a park was technically feasible, the chief minister continued.
The creation of a jungle safari will, on the one hand, aid in the preservation of the Aravalli mountain range, while, on the other, a big number of visitors from Delhi and nearby places will come for tourism, providing plenty of job prospects for locals, according to him.
The chief minister added that the Home Stay Policy would also benefit the nearby villages’ residents. Numerous bird, wild animal, and butterfly species can be found in the Aravalli mountain region.
