Late on Tuesday night at Sultan Bathery, Wayanad, three young people are taken into custody carrying half a kilogramme of MDMA. Jasim Ali (26), Aftash (29) and Mohammed Mithilaj are their names (28).
Following a tip-off, the police detained them during a vehicle inspection at the National Highway close to the RTO check point.
According to the police, Mithilraj is from Koduvally, while Jasim and Aftash are from Bathery. The substance was kept secret in the vehicle they were riding in.
R Anand, the Wayanad District Police Chief, will meet with the media to provide additional information on the arrest.
