An official announced on Sunday that the Punjab Police had detained three illegal arms dealers and seized 63 locally made pistols from their hands in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone area.
According to Punjab State Special Operation Cell sub-inspector Jagdeep Singh, up to 24 charges had previously been filed against the three suspects, who had previously supplied firearms to Punjab, Rajasthan, and other states.
Kailash Singh, Sonu Singh, and Gorelal were apprehended along Khargone’s Kajalpura Road on Saturday by a police team from Amritsar in Punjab. They were also found to be in possession of 63 locally made pistols, he claimed.
He claimed that two other people, Deepak Pratap and Jai Sharma, were captured with four firearms last month.
The officer claimed that the two people had admitted, while being questioned, that these three accused had sold them firearms.
Dharmveer Singh, the superintendent of police in Khargone, claimed that the Punjab Police had gotten in touch with their counterparts here, who assisted them in making the arrests.
