Thousands of fans were seen streaming into the 80,000-seater Lusail Stadium just outside Doha on Tuesday, ahead of the World Cup clash between Argentina and Saudi Arabia.
Footage shows supporters in the blue and white striped shirts of Argentina, as well as those in the green jerseys of Saudi Arabia, carrying flags and taking photos.
Both group C teams were kicking off their campaign, with Lionel Messi’s La Albiceleste hot favourites to win the tournament, having done so on two previous occasions (1978 and 1986), and coming into the competition on a 36-match unbeaten run.
Saudi Arabia made their debut at the World Cup in 1994, reaching the last 16 that same year in their best ever finish on record.
The other two teams in group C, Mexico and Poland, kick off later on Tuesday.
