Today the Kakanad court, Arshad, the suspect in Kakanad Sajeev’s murder, will be presented. The suspect was detained at Kakkanad Jail after being transported from Kasargod to Kochi this morning. From the court, the investigating team will take custody.
Arshad will next be brought to the Kakanad apartment where evidence will be gathered. In this apartment, Sajeev’s body was discovered. Detailed questioning will reveal the motive for the murder.
Police came to the conclusion that the murder was caused by a dispute over narcotics trafficking. A knife thought to have been used in the slaying was also discovered by the police. Additionally, fingerprints were taken from the blood-spattered weapon.
The weapon will turn into an important piece of evidence in the case if it is discovered to be comparable to Arshad’s fingerprint. On Wednesday, Arshad was detained in Manjeswaram while attempting to flee Kerala.
