Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met NDA’s Presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu ahead of her filing the nomination papers for the upcoming election.
PM Modi, in a tweet, said that Droupadi Murmu’s Presidential nomination has been appreciated across India by all sections of society.
“Her understanding of grassroots problems and vision for India’s development is outstanding,” PM Modi said through a tweet.
Earlier, PM Modi praised Droupadi Murmu for “devoting her life to serving society and empowering the poor”. PM Modi also said that he is “confident she will be a great President of our nation.”
The BJP-led NDA announced Droupadi Murmu as its Presidential candidate on Tuesday evening, while the Opposition parties announced the name of former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha as their choice for the topmost post in the country.
