All state residents with ration cards will begin receiving free Onam food kit tomorrow, according to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Monday night at all district offices, the distribution of food packages at the district level will also begin. Tomorrow at 4 o’clock in Ayyangali Hall, the Food Minister will participate in a ceremony. The chair will be G.R. Anil. Along with them, ministers Antony Raju and V. Shivankutty will take part.
The kits are available to cardholders at their local ration stores. Minister G.R. Anil of the Food and Public Distribution Department advised that while receiving kits, the current portable mechanism for ration distribution should be avoided.
The Onam kit for this year contains 14 things, including a cloth bag. On August 23 and 24, pink card holders will receive their kits. Blue card holders will receive their kits on August 29, 30 and 31. White card holders will receive their kits from September 1 to 3.
