Nora Fatehi interrogated by the Economic Offences Wing (EoW) of the Delhi Police regarding the extortion case involving 200 crore

A senior official said that although Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi cooperated with the investigation into an extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, there are still a few unanswered questions. The Moroccan Canadian actress was questioned for nearly six hours on Friday at the Economic Offenses Wing’s Mandir Marg office of the Delhi Police.

According to Nora Fatehi, who was called in to question the members of the crime syndicate that Sukesh was running from prison, the case was strengthened by Ravindra Yadav, special CP, Crime/EoW, according to ANI.

Aditi Singh, the wife of former Ranbaxy owner Shivinder Singh, is among the prominent people Sukesh is accused of defrauding. Posing as a representative of the Union Law Ministry and the PMO, he was arrested in Rohini jail on charges of running a $200 million extortion ring under the pretence of releasing her husband on bail.

The representative said that since some questions are still unanswered, the police may need to contact Nora for additional investigation. According to him, an investigation is being conducted to identify all the connections and parties involved in the main conspiracy.

“Nora Fatehi claims she was unaware that the Chennai event to which she was invited had ties to this criminal syndicate. But it will be interesting to see how the car and gifts she received were used. Only after a thorough investigation can we draw a conclusion, Yadav continued.

According to reports, Nora Fatehi was questioned about Sukesh and the gifts he offered her. She was also questioned about everyone she had spoken to on the phone during that period.

Leena Maria Paul, Sukesh’s wife, reportedly approached Nora for a nail art event through a manager. Sukesh gave the actress a BMW car, pricey phones, and other gifts as they got closer, the officer told ANI, citing unnamed sources.

“Nora has also stated clearly that she was unaware that Chandrashekhar was detained or that the gifts were purchased with proceeds from crime. She claimed that she had not even visited Chandrashekhar while he was imprisoned, according to ANI.

She had previously admitted receiving gifts from Sukesh and his actress wife Leena in her statements to the Enforcement Directorate, which were recorded on September 13 and October 14, 2021.
