Nearly 15 trains are expected to be delayed in various parts of India

As many as 15 trains will be delayed on Tuesday (January 17) owing to dense fog as extreme cold wave conditions return to various states across the country. The Indian Railways claimed in a statement that “15 trains are running late in the Northern Railway zone due to fog.”

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that lowest temperatures in various parts of Northwest India may drop by roughly 2 degrees Celsius until January 17 morning.

The minimum temperature will rise by 4-6 degrees Celsius from January 19 to 21, 2023, according to the weather office, although there won’t be any noticeable changes on January 18 or after that day.

The minimum temperature at the Safdarjung observatory, the city’s base station, dropped to 1.4 degrees Celsius on Monday, the lowest for the month since January 1, 2021, as Delhi experienced a cold wave.

According to the weather forecasting office, northwest India is likely to be affected by two western disturbances in short succession on January 18 and January 20.

Beginning the night of January 18, 2023, a new western disturbance is predicted to hit the western Himalayan region. Under its influence, mild to moderate precipitation with isolated or scattered snowfall is extremely likely to occur between January 18 and January 20, 2023, over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

Light to moderate snowfall is predicted for the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand between January 20 and 24, 2023.
