Kerala rains: Yellow alerts in three districts today

The Meteorological Center has issued a warning that the state may experience isolated rain today. Three districts have received a yellow alert today. The districts of Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad are on alert.

According to the Meteorological Center, rain will start falling tomorrow. Six districts tomorrow and eleven districts the following day are on yellow alert. Additionally, starting tomorrow, fishing will not be allowed for two days.

The cyclonic circulation near Lakshadweep and the South East Arabian Sea, as well as low pressure areas that extend to Maharashtra and the Bay of Bengal, are to blame for the rains.

129 people killed in stampede at Indonesian football match, says Police

According to Indonesian authorities, a stampede during a brawl during a football game in the province of East Java resulted in at least 129 fatalities and several injuries. Following their team’s 3-2 loss to Persebaya Surabaya on Saturday night, Arema FC supporters invaded the field at a stadium in the eastern city of Malang, according to a statement from the police on Sunday. Police claimed they used tear gas to put an end to “riots” after two officers were killed while also attempting to get spectators to return to the stands. Then, in an effort to escape the tear gas, hundreds of supporters hurried to an exit gate. In the commotion, some people died from being crushed, and many more suffocated. East Java Police Chief Nico Afinta stated that “34 persons perished inside the stadium and the remaining died in hospitals.” He stated that given the worsening situations of many of the 180 injured people, the death toll is probably still rising. One of the victims was a five-year-old child, a hospital director told the local news station. Following Arema FC’s defeat against Persebaya Surabaya, local TV networks captured images of fans flooding onto the field at the Kanjurujan Stadium in Malang. There are visible scuffles and what appears to be tear gas in the air. Images also showed individuals being taken away by other spectators who appeared to have lost consciousness. Authorities reported that all 42,000 seats in the stadium were sold out. 3,000 people, according to the police, stormed the field. A police truck was among the vehicles set ablaze outside the stadium.
