The Meteorological Center has issued a warning that today could bring isolated bouts of heavy rain in the state. Six districts in the state were given a yellow warning today due to the potential for heavy rain. In the districts of Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Palakkad, and Malappuram, an alert has been issued. Up to 115.5 mm of rain are expected.

According to the Meteorological Center’s forecast, the state could have sporadic, heavy showers through August 31. Similar to an orange signal, attention should be exercised in mountainous terrain. The state is experiencing severe rainfall as the monsoon season has begun.

On the coasts of Lakshadweep and Kerala, fishing is prohibited from August 29 through August 30. On these days, winds of 40 to 50 km/h are likely.
