Priya Varghese’s appointment as an associate professor at Kannur University was put on hold by the High Court. Joseph Skaria, a second-ranking petitioner, served as the foundation for the High Court’s conclusion. The cancellation of the much debated appointment is a major setback for Kannur University as well.
The petition will be considered again on 31st of this month. Court sent notice to Priya Varghese through messenger.
Dr. Priya varghese is the wife of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s private secretary KK Ragesh. The appointment of Priya Varghese to the position of Associate Professor of Malayalam at Kannur University was put on hold by the High Court.
The court also mandated that the UGC be added as a party to the litigation after observing that the petition had merit.
