Heavy rainfall in Kerala for next five days

Statewide showers and sporadic, heavy rain are forecast from tonight through the 28th. It has been reported by the Central Meteorological Department that Kerala may see sporadic heavy rain. In a number of districts, the Central Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts.

Orange Alert

24-08-2022: Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasargod

In these districts, an orange signal has been issued by the Central Meteorological Department. Forecasts call for isolated areas to get significant rainfall. Heavy rainfall is classified by the Meteorological Department as 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm of rain in a 24-hour period.

Yellow Alert

24-08-2022: Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Eranakulam, Palakkad, Wayanad

25-08-2022: Kottayam, Eranakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasargod

26-08-2022: Alappuzha, Kottayam, Eranakulam, Idukki, Malappuram

27-08-2022: Alappuzha, Kottayam, Eranakulam, Idukki, Malappuram

28-08-2022: Idukki, Malappuram

Because of the storm in the North East Bay of Bengal, there have been heavy rains in the state once more. The shores of Kerala, Lakshadweep, and Karnataka are off-limits to fishing. The South Bay of Bengal is likely to have strong winds and poor weather, with gusts up to 65 kmph on occasion.
