Government employees will receive a bonus of Rs. 4,000 in conjunction with Onam, and those who aren’t eligible for bonuses will receive a special festival allowance of Rs. 2,750. said N. Balagopal. Retired employees and service pensioners are granted a special festival stipend of Rs. 1000 under the Participatory Pension Scheme.
Over 13 lakh employees and workers would receive special help throughout Onam. To celebrate Onam, all Kerala government employees would receive an advance of 20,000. Pay other employees, including part-time contingent workers, an advance of Rs 6000.
The same rate of festival money will be given to all employee categories this year, including contract-scheme workers who received it last year.
