Dixon Tech has signed an agreement with Google to sublicense rights to Android and Google TV

Dixon Technologies (India) Limited announced on Monday that it has inked an agreement with Google to sub-license rights to Android and Google TV in order to become India’s first contract manufacturer.

According to a press statement, the new relationship will enable the company to offer cost-effective, consistent, high-quality, and out-of-the-box experiences to its existing clients and potential new brands, thus strengthening the firm’s market leadership in the LED TV category.

Lall, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Dixon Technologies.

“This has largely been made possible by the company’s unwavering focus on innovation, backward integration, enormous scale, and strong relationships with national and international brands.” This is consistent with our efforts to contribute to the government’s “Make in India” initiative,” he added.

Dixon Tech stock was trading 2% higher on the BSE at Rs 4190 per share at 1:51 p.m. The stock is up 9.28 percent in the past month but down 1.27 percent in the last year.

Dixon Technologies Limited, founded in 1993, is a homegrown manufacturing company that offers design-focused solutions in consumer durables, home appliances, lighting, mobile phones, and security devices to customers worldwide, as well as repairing and refurbishment services for a wide range of products such as set-top boxes, mobile phones, and LED TV panels.
