Civic Chandran Case; The High Court rejected the plea of the judge who questioned the transfer process

The former Kozhikode Principal District and Sessions judge S Krishnakumar’s suit challenging the transfer process was dismissed by the High Court. He was the one who made the contentious claims in the decision releasing author Civic Chandran on bail in advance. The transfer to the Labor Court, according to High Court Justice Anu Sivaraman, was lawful.

The judge’s argument that authorization was not required because he was serving in a deputation capacity for the Labor Court was rejected by the court during the hearing as well.

Controversial comments were made by the previous Kozhikode Principal Sessions Judge, who referred to the complainant’s attire as provocative. Civic Chandran received anticipatory bail in two charges of sexual harassment.
