On Wednesday morning, two people perished in a car collision near the Pariyaram CSR dock on the Chalakudy-Athirappilly route. The deceased are Annie (60), the wife of Konnakuzhi Thomas, and Annu (74), the wife of Pariyaram Chillai Devasi.
The car which hit Annu lost control and slammed into a tree, killing Annie who was in the vehicle.
Thomas, Annie’s husband who was operating the vehicle, is receiving care at St James Hospital in this city.
The mortuary at the same hospital is where the deceased’s bodies are kept.
