Actress attack case: Crime Branch orders Shone George for questioning

Shone George won’t be questioned by Crime Branch today about the bogus WhatsApp chat issue. A summons to appear at the Kottayam crime branch office tomorrow has been issued.

The case is based on a phone screen image given by Shone George to Dileep’s younger brother Anoop that purported to show a media and law enforcement plot against him. Shone’s home was raided last day in the case in connection with this.

On the 25th of this month, Crime Branch conducted a raid at Shone George’s home in connection with an attempt to obstruct justice by fabricating screenshots of an alleged attack on the actress. The detectives discovered that Shone George had released the phone screenshots.

The criminal branch team visited the Punjar home of PC George on August 25 around 8:30 in the morning. Amminikuttan, an SP with the Kottayam Crime Branch, and Ullas, an SP with the Thrissur Crime Branch, led the operation. According to the criminal section, Shone tried to derail the investigation by sending Anoop a screenshot early on.

A WhatsApp group with police officers and a film worker was shown in a screenshot. This was done to demonstrate that Dileep was the target of a plot. The criminal branch, however, discovered that the screenshot was a fake.
