Aadhaar Card – How to update mobile number

Aadhaar has now taken up a crucial place in our lives. All official transactions now require the 12-digit unique identification number. An Aadhaar number is required in order to verify identity for everything from applying for a driver’s licence to opening a bank account, opening a mobile device or internet connection, and applying for jobs.

Aadhaar cards include your name, birthdate, phone number, address, and, most importantly, a 12-digit identity number. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) periodically advises users to review their Aadhaar data and submit changes if any updates are necessary.

The mobile number you provided for your Aadhaar is your official contact information. You can, however, update it as needed. Recall that updating a mobile number cannot be done online. You must complete it by going to the nearby Aadhaar centre.

The procedures for changing your mobile number are listed below.

1: Log on to the official Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) website.

2: Under the My Aadhaar drop down option, select ‘Update Your Aadhaar at Update/Enrolment Center’.

3: You can either search your nearest Aadhar center through entering your state and district, or by entering your PIN code.

4: Go to the nearest Aadhaar centre. Complete the update form.

5: You need to pay ₹50 as a fee with your updation form.

6: An acknowledgement receipt with a URN number will be provided to you. You can use the number to monitor the status of your application.

7: Your mobile phone number will be updated on your database within 90 days.
