According to the Central Meteorological Department, Kerala may experience widespread rain till August 27. The existence of a cyclone in the North East Bay of Bengal is the cause of the heavy rains in Kerala. As rain continues in places that have seen excessive rainfall over the past few days, residents of low-lying areas, riverbanks, and steep areas susceptible to landslides should exercise additional caution.

According to the Central Meteorological Department, it is not advised to go fishing on August 24 around the coastlines of Kerala, Lakshadweep, and Karnataka.
