Today at Punnamadakayal, the 68th Nehru Trophy Boat Race will take place. 40 lakh rupees’ worth of tickets have already been sold.
Due to the delay of two years, the excitement is double this time. There are 79 boats competing, both large and small. There are 20 beaked boats in total.
At 11 am, the small boat heats will begin. The beaked boat race is in the afternoon. The Nehru Trophy will take part in the Champions Boat League for the second time. The Champions Boat League has qualified 9 boats.
Deputy Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will open the event. Ministers from various states will also be present. Regarding the boating, there has been increased security set up in the area. For security, about 2000 police officers have been sent out.
